Curb Appeal Update – Progress

We have been doing quite a bit of work outside this spring and summer because, well, if we’re being honest, it’s been neglected. We’ve just been trying to keep it tidy the best we can. But, this year we could wait no longer. Lots of little things have gotten done – maintenance type things – over the past couple of weeks. However, before that we did some serious work that I haven’t showed here yet. We are nowhere near done, but progress is good friends! Just for a reminder this is where we started a year ago. 🙂

Well, we finally got around to updating the tile in our kids/guest shower!! Did y’all catch the sneak peek in my Christmas home tour??

Changing On The Outside

Hey there! I hope your week is going well so far! Have you ever been in a place where you look at something and you’re just tired of it? It’s been fine for forever, but today, not so much. Ya, that’s kind of where I’ve been with the curb appeal, or rather lack there of, of our home. We have been working hard on the inside for a while now, but the outside has been pretty much ignored. Kept up, but not changed.

Covering In White

Well…today as I was covering these in white

God was covering everything in white.  The most beautiful ginormous flakes fell from the sky today.

The boys couldn’t wait to get outside and play when they got home from school. This is the fruit of their labor.

Of course there was also some snowball throwing.  🙂 This momma is really hoping we have school tomorrow.  Please roads don’t freeze.

I took some time to do a little work on the blog design.  I will say it is a work in progress, and will probably change again.  Hope you like it.

Oh and…we got a puppy.  His name is Ranger.

Isn’t he the cutest?!?

Happy Tuesday!

Lightening Up – Door Treatment {Part 2 – DIY}

Okay I am back with the promised how to for my doors.  Really so much easier than even I thought it would be.  I’m going to use lots of pictures because I am a visual person. 🙂

First step is picking out what you want the door to look like.  Like I said, I went to Home Depot to look at doors and of course checked out the internet.  And decided on a basic style that seemed easy to duplicate and would be cost effective since I plan to eventually continue this treatment on other doors.

After you determine what you want it to look like you then need to measure.  Decide how far you want the molding from the sides, top, etc., making sure you take into account the hardware.  Then it’s time for the fun part – cutting.  All you need is a basic miter saw and miter box, and a tape measure.
