Good morning friends! It’s so good to be back here with you again! I never know how our summers are going to go. I never know how much time I’m going to have for projects and blog work. But I do know that I am going to be present for my kids while they are here at home. So, typically that means not too much time for projects and blog work. I hope you don’t feel too ignored, and even if you do, I hope you understand. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my embarrassing situation in my stories yesterday. 😳 As I mentioned there, all of my Etsy supplies and work have been basically taking up space in our master bedroom all summer while my daughter has been home. She’ll be headed back to college soon, and while I’m super sad to see her go, I will be glad to get some of this stuff out of our bedroom for a while.
If ever there was something I struggled organizing it would be kids keepsakes. This would include all those cute things you keep when they are little. Cards from grandma, school papers, awards, art projects. What in the world do you do with all of that stuff??? And why is there so much of it?? I shared almost a year ago about this dilemma and I’m happy to report that it has been resolved!! I pared this mess way down.
Hey friends! Like many of you we have had somewhat of a stutter start back to school this winter. One day of school, and then snow. Four days of school and then…sorta ice. My girlie went back to college, but the big boy still has a couple of weeks at home. Honestly I don’t know what day it is most days. This mama is ready for a little bit of a regular routine for a good while. I’m ready to get back to DIY and crafting and projects. I have so many things swimming around in my DIY mind! Ha! Maybe you saw my insta-stories last on Monday, where I shared a lot of those things!! I finally got out of the house and made a trip to Home Depot for supplies for a simple project that I finished in a day! And, today I’m sharing with you!
What is it about the new year that gives everyone the organizing bug?? You’ll see it everywhere. People are dumping the clutter and getting their spaces organized. I’m so with you!! Maybe it’s all the stuff that comes with Christmas. The decorations, the gifts, the boxes, the ribbons, the bows. Maybe it’s the excitement of a new year. Things will be better this year! I will be organized! I will not be ruled by the stuff!
Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m a paper piler. I typically have three or four piles of papers on my desk at one time, as well as another one or two piles somewhere else. I have tried many, many, many systems to remedy this problem with NO success. I’m a visual person so, literally, out of sight = out of mind. Piling works for me, so why disrupt the system?? Well, because it’s ugly!! This before picture of my desk is pretty accurate – several piles. So, what’s my solution?? What tips do I have for my office to get organized and stay that way??
