Hey there! I’ve got another easy Christmas craft for you today! Have you seen the new trend of hoop wreaths? They are everywhere these days. And I love them. I recently made my first one and it was so easy! Today I’m sharing with you the Christmas hoop wreath that I put together in less than an hour! Seriously so easy.
Christmas Hoop Wreath
Supplies
- Hoop of desired size (mine is 24″)
- Greenery garland
- Greenery picks
- Ribbon
I started with these supplies pictured. But, as you’ll see in the tutorial that I didn’t actually need everything.
The first thing I did was to cut a piece of garland to the length I wanted. I knew I wanted to cover about 2/3 of the hoop. I used garland as a base because it’s less expensive and easy to use. (I’ll use the leftover in other areas of the house when I decorate.)
Then I added it to the hoop.
I was planning on using the greenery chenille stems, but I actually decided to just wrap pieces of the garland around the hoop in the back. You can see that here. Easy peasy!!
Next up was adding some other greenery picks. I really wanted a natural looking wreath, but you could use whatever kind of picks fit with your decor theme.
I got the picks in place and then secured them again by wrapping them with pieces of the garland.
After I got all the picks added that I wanted, I ended up with some wires showing.
So, I just cut another small piece of the garland,
and added that in on top to cover up the wires!
All done. Except I wanted some way to hang it. I remembered I has some awesome flannel ribbon that I found after Christmas last year.
I always love to shop for Christmas stuff – all the things – after Christmas! I get great deals so I can add to my collection each year this way without breaking the bank!
I added a length of ribbon to the top of the hoop with a simple slip-knot and then tied the ribbon at the other end.
I have a special place in mind for this which I will share with y’all when I get the house decked for Christmas! But first, Thanksgiving. Yes, that’s right we are hosting again this year. So, I am off to get things together for that! Praying that you enjoy your time with family and friends! I’ll be back next week with more Christmas goodness!!
