Sorry for my absence from Family Friday – life is swirling around me in a mess of chaos!! Why is the month of May so crazy??
I have shared before here about feeling overwhelmed. Trying to keep my head above water. Trying to keep my head on straight. The title of my blog is ‘frazzled’ JOY right? I’m not proud of my worry-wort characteristics, but I do own them. I know that I can’t blame anyone else for my insanely crazy state of mind.
So, May. Concerts, state playoffs, high school graduation, church events, 5th grade graduation, college stuff, need I go on.
A few weeks back when talking to a friend, we were both lamenting over our schedules, and how much we wished we could just be enjoying these moments, but we weren’t. We were both in this funk because of the craziness.
I was reminded of this post I read months ago from Sasha at Lemonade Makin’ Mama.
I remember reading that post and seeing this sign that she painted, and thinking YES!! Then she strategically placed the piece on her kitchen counter as a reminder.
So, after my talk with my friend I went home and cleared a spot on my chalkboard door. At the top I wrote “Today”, and at the bottom I wrote “one day at a time”. I have been consistently writing the schedule of extras each day, and the reminder of doing just today has been such a blessing.
Yes, tomorrow will come, but I can change nothing of it by worrying about it constantly. So, thank you for the reminder Sasha!
We all have busy seasons. I remember when the kiddos were small, feeling the same overwhelming feelings. Whether it was holidays, or really just the everyday craziness of trying to potty train a toddler!! How do you handle busy seasons?? When the waves come – remember, God’s got this. He will supply your every need. Find the JOY in your today!!
In the Bible Jesus said “so do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34
