Do you choose a word of the year? I have a couple of times in the past, but it’s been a while. A few months ago at a women’s event at our church, the speaker encouraged us to pray and ask God to give us a word for 2019. So, I did.
I could have chosen several words for this new year. Although there were some pretty great things that happened in 2018, the end of the year kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Leaving me wanting some good out of 2019. But, in praying about a word from God my thoughts shifted. Again, several things came up, but they all had a central theme. The word that just kept coming up, almost everyday in my reading was TRUST. Other things were PEACE, and JOY. But I realized that all those things come by trusting in the Lord.
I pray the God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 NLT
So in 2019 I’m looking forward to trusting the Lord IN all things and FOR all things. Happy New Year friends! It’s gonna be a great one! Do you have a word for the year? Share it with me in the comments!
