Hey friends! I spent Saturday crafting my little heart out getting ready for Valentine’s Day. It was a cloudy day to start with so it was the perfect day for it! (honestly though, what day isn’t perfect for crafting??) It was so good to get my hands messy and create something! I’ll be sharing a few projects over the next few weeks leading up to Valentine’s – this week I’m sharing how to make some plain candle holders fancy and sparkly for any season really – but they’re red so they are perfect for Valentine’s!
I started with just three supplies –
Simple glass candle holders (mine happened to come with candles). You can use any shape or size you like, although I found it easier to work with these that had flat sides. Spray adhesive, and glitter – you could use any color you would like, but in honor of Valentine’s, I went with red.
First step is a light coat of spray adhesive to the sides (no need to put glitter on the bottom 😉 ). Then, shake on a light layer of glitter.
Tap a bit to remove a little excess, then spray another light coat of spray adhesive, and this time you can either shake another layer on (a little heavier this time) or roll it in the excess glitter.
Now they look extra fancy!!
I purchased a box of a dozen candle holders, so I decided to fancy them all up to use scattered about.
In an effort to help the glitter stay on the glass I sprayed them all with a coat a clear spray poly.
I just love the look of the thick layer of glitter! Can’t wait to put these pretties to use!
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!!
